Concrete-to-Concrete provides the choice of developing rebar to the edge of the ground, or anchoring into reinforcement in the concrete. The anchoring option is an example of a period load occurring in concrete. The four types of anchor placements are shown in the chart above. The function of the material is to perform as an anchor to transmit a load to the surface. As a component of concrete reinforcement it shall allow displacement of the concrete.
All function modules handle anchors according to the anchor-to-concrete placements by default. The reinforcement is modeled as a concrete reinforcement rod that can be placed at relative lengths of 0.0 or 1.0 or 2.0, or above the top surface to which it is to be anchored by design. There is a significant difference in the capacity when an anchor is placed in a concrete form and when it is a component of concrete reinforcement. For example, the anchor uses a shear capacity, but cement concrete does not; the shear capacity is based on the section modulus of the reinforcement. The following chart illustrates this and shows capacity values that are derived from the software. Note, some functions may not allow a user to specify a zero steel reinforcement placement.
Static and dynamic anchors exceed the capacity of the reinforcement they anchor to unless the anchor is located at a precise position and the anchor strength is greater than the capacity of the reinforcement. The reinforcement may be steel reinforcement, but it may be any material that has the capacity to carry the load. The converse is occasionally also true, but anchors are rarely placed too well to create a shear effect on the surrounding concrete. In this case, the anchor provides sufficient shear capacity to stay in place, but the reinforcement must be strong enough to carry a much larger load than the anchor.
The placement of anchor does not affect capacity with a concrete reinforcement. However, strong anchors such as bolts and screws withstood loads much higher than the capacity of the reinforcement used for anchoring. Friction between the anchor and reinforcement increases the total load on the reinforcement. d2c66b5586
